Accessible in white or colorless crystalline solid form, O Chlorobenzoic Acid is used as suitable intermediate during organic synthesis. As a suitable building block, it is required for the synthesis of different organic compounds and dyes. Its presence can be noticed in the composition of carboxylic acid, amides and esters. What is more, O Chlorobenzoic Acid is also required to produce insecticides and polymers. It is formed as a result of reaction between chlorine and benzene.  It is soluble in ether, ethanol and also in other organic solvents, but it is slightly soluble in water. Its melting point is around 110 degree C.
